Sheerness
The second cheapest town to buy property is Sheerness, with an average cost of £223,000. This is situated on the Isle of Sheppey in the north part of Kent. It is has a population of over 12,000 so is the largest town on the island.
Sheerness has a lot of history and began life as a fort and developed into a major shipbuilding dockyard.
Dover
In top place being the cheapest place to buy property in Kent is Dover, where an average property costs only £197,000.
Dover is a major port and is the closest point to France, so many ferry operators sail from here. The town has a population of around 28,000 and the whole urban area has a population of 39,000.
